James Kent
Physiotherapist
​{BHSc Physio, Pg.Dip (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy), Cert MDT}

James is passionate about how human movement influences pain and function and fosters a holistic approach to the management of your injury and overall health.

James has completed a Post-graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at AUT as well as the GIFT certification in Applied Functional Science (AFS) through the Grays Institute, USA. James is currently working towards his Masters in Health Science through AUT looking at neuromuscular control of the knee following knee surgery.

Carolyn O'Leary 
Physiotherapist & Manipulative Therapist
{Dip Physio, Grad Dip MT, Cert Mulligan Practitioner}​

Since graduating with a Diploma in Physiotherapy as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy, Carolyn has gained extensive musculoskeletal experience in both public and private practice. 

Having lived and worked locally in Kumeu for over 20 years, Carolyn has immersed herself in the community raising her four boys and in her role as physiotherapist/counsellor to her many loyal patients.

​Carolyn has worked as lead physiotherapist for NZ's Youth Americas Cup Team in San Francisco and sports physiotherapist for Rosmini College First XV.

Carolyn has an empathetic nature that is passed on in her treatment philosophy, which focuses on intuitive hands on treatment to unlock the source of your pain. Carolyn's special interests include spinal (neck and back) pain and shoulder (rotator cuff tear and bursitis) rehabilitation.

She continues to keep abreast with new innovations and proven techniques to assist her clients and is a Certified Mulligan Practitioner.

Cody Langford
Physiotherapist

Cody graduated from AUT University in 2017 and was awarded the John Morris award for top clinical grades for his final year, and the Fran Elkin Prize for the best overall academic student. Since then Cody has worked in a variety of clinical roles and has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injuries ranging from work-based injuries to sports injuries.

Cody has a strong emphasis on exercise-based rehabilitation, as well as utilising manual therapy and dry needling to help optimise a full recovery after an injury. He is also passionate for sports medicine, strength and conditioning and injury prevention.

Cody enjoys surfing, mountain biking and staying active. He seeks to maintain a healthy lifestyle and aims to translate these values into his Physiotherapy practice.

Hannah Fordyce
Physiotherapist
{BHSc (Physiotherapy), NZRP}

Hannah graduated from AUT in 2018. She also holds a Bachelor of Sport (Major in Physical Education).

Since graduating Hannah has developed her musculoskeletal skills and adopts a holistic approach to her treatment, considering the whole person. She is passionate about assisting people on their rehabilitation journey and helping them achieve their goals.

​Hannah is passionate about her horses, and when not working you will find her at the paddocks.

Karen Alderson
Physiotherapist

Karen is an experienced physiotherapist with postgraduate qualifications in back pain, sports injuries, work injuries and joint problems. She is a member of NZ Society of Physiotherapists, Sports Physiotherapy NZ and NZ Manipulative Physiotherapy Association.
​
She has worked in the public hospital system and private practice, holding management and clinical roles.

Through her extensive musculoskeletal experience Karen has gained excellent skills in manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisations, spinal techniques, muscle imbalance and exercise prescription. With ongoing professional development, she keeps up to date with research and new techniques, and puts these into practice each day treating clients.

Karen has worked as physiotherapist and manager in many sports teams across all age groups including having worked as Physiotherapist at Avondale College for seven years.
She is passionate about helping people enhance their lives through physical wellness and always strives to provide the best treatment tailored to each individual.

She has lived in the Kumeu/Riverhead area for 16 years and has been involved in the local community particularly through schools and sports clubs.

Sean Berg
Physiotherapist

Sean brings a contemporary evidence-based approach to his practice to ensure his clients are well informed and are receiving high quality care. He believes that mutual decision making in your health care management that is tailored and adaptable to your lifestyle makes physio both enjoyable and successful.

Sean graduated BHSc Physiotherapy in 2018 and has since completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Sean is continuing his education in the field of oncology where he is working on completing the PINC and STEEL cancer rehabilitation course. He has experience in sport sideline injury management and rehabilitation (surgical and non-surgical) in professional clubs such as the Vodafone Warriors (development squads) and local teams such as the Otahuhu Leopards Premier team.

May Yoo
Acupuncturist

May is an experienced traditional Acupuncturist, with extensive experience working in both NZ and Korea. Prior to working at NorthWest Physio +, May has owned her own clinic in Helensville where she treated locals for over 7 Years.

May is an ACC provider and specialises in all things acupuncture as well as cupping and moxibustion treatment. May can treat conditions such as - Pain (neck, back, knee, ankle, shoulder) - Frozen shoulder - Sciatica - Fertility - Sport injuries and much more!

May is also a regular presenter on Korean radio in Auckland where she discusses all things health.

Nicky Spence
Dip. HSC.Th. Massage (L5), Dip. HSC. Rm. Massage (L6), (completing) BA Neuromuscular Therapy

Nicky is a qualified soft tissue therapist; she is currently completing her Bachelor in Neuromuscular Therapy.

Clinical Massage/Myo therapy helps maintain or re-establish balance within the body to provide optimal wellness and stability for Mental, Physical and Emotional health.  Massage can be used as a standalone modality or complemented with additional healthcare modalities to bring the nervous and musculoskeletal systems together. Neuromuscular Techniques will ensure you gain Maximum Range of movement, Improve flexibility and Postural Awareness which will lessen pain, improve circulation and limit adhesions.

Nickys approach is to initially establish your concerns and discuss your goal/focus areas so the client and therapist are both aware of the treatment plan going forward.
