Musculoskeletal PainMusculoskeletal pain is one which affects the human body's movement system, (i.e. muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, nerves, discs, blood vessels, etc).
Musculoskeletal pain can be caused by:
An accident – such as a fall or heavy blow. Not warming up properly before exercising. Using inappropriate equipment. Applying poor technique. Developing poor posture. Sudden awkward movement. Pushing yourself too hard. Congenital and Orthopaedic conditions. Treatment/Rehabilitation/EducationThe best time to seek treatment for an injury or any chronic pain is ‘as soon as possible’. This is especially true for significant injuries that affect your ability to walk or weight-bear or to carry out your normal activities.
At NorthWest Physio + we will assess your injury and pain and provide you with a diagnosis and a specific treatment and management plan. If necessary we can also refer you for further investigations such as x-rays or ultrasound scans to help with making a diagnosis or to rule-out a more serious injury. At NorthWest Physio + we will get you back to full fitness again as quickly as possible and advise you on appropriate strategies to help yourself reduce further injury in the future. Remember, many injuries are avoidable.
The sooner you seek treatment the sooner we can get you back to doing the things you enjoy and keeping it that way. |
